Learning More About 3D Ultrasound / 4D Ultrasound
The questions listed below are the most frequently asked questions about our Elective Prenatal Ultrasounds. Should you have any questions that are not answered below, please call us at (215) 945-8200 or drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What is SneakPeek® Clinical?
SneakPeek Clinical is an early gender DNA detection test offered to women starting at 9 weeks into pregnancy. The genetic test is designed to work in conjunction with an ultrasound scan for expecting mothers. An on-site phlebotomist draws a blood sample in the comfort of the ultrasound studio, and then returns the sample to SneakPeek Labs for processing. The laboratories offer the fastest turnaround times in the industry, with a choice of receiving your result the same day the sample reaches the SneakPeek Lab.
How does SneakPeek® work?
SneakPeek utilizes the natural process of shared fetal DNA circulating inside the mother’s bloodstream. Our PCR technology has the ability to detect the presence or absence of male Y chromosome in the blood sample provided starting at 9 weeks into pregnancy. If it is detected then the baby’s gender is male and if it is not detected then the baby’s gender is female.
What makes Fetal Vision Imaging better than the rest?
That’s easy! Besides being the only facility in the region offering High Definition, our image clarity, hands down, is THE BEST. If you are deciding between facilities, do yourself a favor before booking an appointment. Look at ultrasound facilities Facebook and/or Instagram pages to see the images THE CLIENTS are posting to get a true idea of the images the facility produces. Do your research, then give us a call! You will be happy you did!
Why should I choose Fetal Vision Imaging for my 3D ultrasound / 4D ultrasound session?
We are the ONLY facility in the region to offer HIGH DEFINITION 3D/4D ultrasound technology. Our staff is experienced and has been providing excellent experiences and image quality that is unsurpassed in the industry since 2005. We are owned and operated by a Registered Nurse. In addition, unlike other facilities where you may simply get a 5 minute “highlight video” a week or two after your appointment; at Fetal Vision you will have your entire ultrasound session in hand upon leaving our office along with all materials that come with the package you select!
When is the best time to have my 3D ultrasound / 4D Ultrasound?
We recommend between weeks 25-33 or as close to 29 weeks as possible for single gestation. For twins and multiples we try to have mom in between weeks 22-27 or as close to 25 weeks as possible.
Can I still get great images outside of the recommended time frame?
Yes! In fact some of the best images are captured later on in the pregnancy. However, everyone carries differently and has different conditions. Placental location and mom’s overall hydration status can have a dramatic impact on how well we see the baby beyond the recommended time frame.
Will I always get great images of my baby?
Usually, provided you have followed our instructions with regards to hydrating yourself and you are coming in during the recommended time frame. However, on occasion, your baby or the placenta may be in a difficult position which can affect the clarity of your images. If the baby is in a difficult position and we cannot see your baby, we will invite you back for another session “on us”. Our goal is for you to leave our office with the absolute clearest images the industry can provide!
Do I need a full bladder?
Absolutely not! You can actually be comfortable for this ultrasound!
What if I don’t want to know the gender of my baby but I still want to have a 3D ultrasound / 4D Ultrasound?
No problem whatsoever! We have never ruined a surprise for anyone!
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, appointments are necessary for all of our services. Please note that Saturday and late afternoon appointments during the week tend to book rather quickly! Please schedule your appointment accordingly.
Does insurance cover my ultrasound at Fetal Vision Imaging?
Insurance does not cover this type of ultrasound. Your ultrasound with us is considered elective and does not take the place of the ultrasound ordered by your doctor. We accept the following forms of payment: Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, debit cards and money orders.
Where are you located?
Our ultrasound facility is located in Levittown, PA just 2 miles from Sesame Place and the Oxford Valley Mall. We are conveniently located mid-way between Philadelphia, PA and Princeton, NJ. We proudly serve the surrounding Delaware Valley Region including all of Southeastern PA, as well as all of New Jersey and Delaware.
Can I bring my family and friends?
Yes! In fact, we encourage you to invite family and friends to attend your 3D ultrasound / 4D Ultrasound session with us. This is a joyous and wonderful occasion; one that can be shared with your family and loved ones. We can comfortably accommodate 5 to 6 people on our sofa and chairs. However, additional guests are more than welcome to attend. Our seating is specifically arranged so that everyone in your party will have an excellent view of our large screen displaying spectacular images of your baby.
Are you able to tell the gender of my baby?
Yes, in most cases we can determine the gender of your baby with 100% accuracy. We can’t however guarantee that the baby will cooperate during your session. In the world of 3D ultrasound / 4D Ultrasound, your baby is the boss! On rare occasions certain factors such as mom’s hydration, body tissue content, fetal developmental stage and position all affect the ability to determine the gender. If there is any uncertainty as to the gender of your baby, we will invite you back for another visit “on us”.
